PEP-CaST: How to Capture Emitters for CCUS - Report 1

Report 1: Carbon Capture Fundamentals and Industrial Point Source Emissions

Following up on Dr. Welch's initial PEP-CaST CCUS report, Part II focuses on providing a thorough understanding of the industry point source emissions nationwide, grasp the basics of carbon capture technologies, and examine regional concentrations of emission sources for future development. Each industry has a distinct emissions profile, warranting close examination to identify which emission sources can be harnessed to propel the industry forward. Identified ideal industries will be instrumental in the development of the CCUS market and will determine the location and scale of the infrastructure and storage needed for the successful launch of CCUS in the US.

PEP-CaST offers a comprehensive analysis of vital project considerations and market dynamics. The tool aims to maximize project returns and minimize project uncertainty, thereby empowering stakeholders to make informed decisions and better respond to changes in the CCUS landscape.
