PEP is seeking a highly motivated individual for a Corporate Analyst position focused on firm operations and financial reporting in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of GAAP, partnership accounting and controls, outstanding verbal and written communication skills, be well organized, detail oriented and the ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment. The ideal candidate should also have a prior focus on financial services firms or energy companies.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for general ledger monthly close of all subsidiaries and the parent company
  • Assist in day-to-day financial and accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements and compliance reporting
  • Provide insightful and thorough monthly P&L and balance sheet reviews with CFO
  • Be responsible for the preparation of monthly internal reports to support business units’ needs
  • Serve as a point of contact and work closely with 3rd party service providers (audit, tax, fund administrator)
  • Assist the CFO in the annual operating budget planning cycle for all subsidiaries
  • Provide financial modeling and forecasting to support strategic planning and decision-making
  • Deliver high-performing shared services operations across all subsidiaries (AP, AR, cash collections)
  • Lead a continuous process improvement and automation environment enabled by the company’s technology solutions (NetSuite and Salesforce)
  • Prepare and review cash movements for the firm’s private funds and related investor capital calls/distributions
  • Review fund administrator prepared personal capital statements and financial packages
  • Prepare materials for firm level Committees and the Advisory Board
  • Assist the CIO and President in research, development, and launch of new investment products
  • Be a resource to the CCO and Director of Investor Relations by providing/updating private fund performance, assisting with the completion of due diligence questionnaires and addressing ad-hoc requests
  • Assist with preparing monthly newsletters and investor materials
  • Assist with preparing monthly/quarterly NAV calculations and investor statements in coordination with the fund administrator
  • Assist the CIO with trade bookings as needed and ensure all daily trading activity is maintained in the Order Management System with the assistance of the outsourced middle-office team

Specific Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Finance, Accounting or a related field
  • At least 1-3 years of Operations experience, Fund Accounting experience or Audit experience
  • Financial services background a plus
  • Knowledgeable skillset of Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with Bloomberg, EZE OMS, NetSuite or Salesforce a plus
  • Strong analytical skills, well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently on multiple projects and tasks
  • Have an entrepreneurial spirit with ability to interact confidently with upper management, colleagues, clients and vendors
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Confident in seeking clarification when faced with unfamiliar topics or situations
