We are seeking Investment Banking Associate Interns to join our 2024 summer internship program. Investment Banking Financial Associate Interns will work on a variety of transactions that provide exposure to various investment banking services and client industries. During your internship, you will have exposure to mergers and acquisitions, private placements of debt and equity, refinancings, and leveraged buyouts primarily in the upstream oil and gas sector. Throughout the summer, you will learn from and work with highly talented and dedicated professionals who will give you broad exposure to the many different issues and concerns affecting businesses today.

You will research and analyze financial statements, general and industry-specific economic conditions and developments, acquisitions and divestitures, and various investment attributes of publicly traded and private securities companies.

The collaborative and entrepreneurial environment at Pickering Energy Partners rewards summer interns with substantial responsibility and interaction with senior leaders and Managing Directors. This Investment Banking Associate Internship is the primary pathway to joining the Investment Banking team at Pickering Energy Partners.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial modeling and analysis to support investment decisions, mergers, and acquisitions within the energy sector.
  • Market Research: Stay abreast of industry trends, conduct market research, and assist in the preparation of reports to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Due Diligence: Support due diligence efforts by analyzing financial statements, assessing business risks, and identifying key value drivers.
  • Pitch Preparation: Assist in the creation of client presentations, pitch books, and other materials to communicate investment opportunities to clients.
  • Data Management: Organize and maintain data related to potential and ongoing transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Deal Execution: Coordinate and oversee the operational aspects of financial transactions to ensure smooth implementation of investment strategies in the investment banking sector.

Specific Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s Degree with a graduation date between December 2024 and June 2025
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques
  • Possess basic knowledge of and a keen interest in finance and the markets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases
